Wolf & Shepherd was founded around the idea of evolving the dress shoe to its ultimate form. Moving on from the archaic wood and nails build to a shoe that contains as much modern comfort as possible, while elevating the classic style that makes it timeless. Wolf & Shepherd continues that mission with the release of Closer™.
The Closer Wordmark
During our scouting day in the city, I couldn’t help but notice the intricate details of the subway station mosaics. I loved the balance between geometric precision and imperfections, a reflection of the city's vibrant spirit.
WS Meander
For the finishing touch to the mosaic I introduced the "WS Meander," a Greek-inspired pattern designed using the brand's monogram letters. The interplay of the W and S pays tribute to the brand's identity while aligning with the timeless design trend notably popular in the vibrant and eclectic cityscape of New York City.
Cartoons
Drawing inspiration from the wit and sophistication of The New Yorker cartoons, I wanted to create a series of whimsical and stylish illustrations that would seamlessly integrate into the campaign while showcasing the previously untapped skills of our graphic designer, Nate Hissong. By adding a touch of humor and relatability to our designs, we successfully engaged our audience, making the shoe launch not just a product introduction but an artful and memorable experience.
How to Style Closer™
We introduced a shoppable style guide for the Closer™ collection, designed to ignite our customers' imagination when it comes to pairing our shoes with the perfect ensemble. This guide features a blend of flatlays and lifestyle imagery captured during our New York photoshoot.
Ashton Eaton takes on NYC
Running a little late? That’s not a problem with Closer™. Follow Olympic Gold Medalist and former World Record holder, Wolf & Shepherd Ambassador Ashton Eaton, as he cuts through New York City in the new commercial for the Wolf & Shepherd.
